Road to the Crown: Miss Central Coast’s Outstanding Teen

HELLOO!

I am SO sorry that it took me so long to get this post up…. junior year is INSANE – I have  not had 20 minutes to myself and today, I finally have a free day (and I accidentally took a 6 hour nap lol).

I have some very exciting news (which you would’ve seen on my Insta: @BUYorBYEbyMaggie) ~ I am your new Miss Central Coast’s Outstanding Teen!!!

This has been such an amazing experience and I cannot wait for a full year with this title and Miss NJOTeen in January!

I’d be lying if I said that I felt confident in my performance all day — honestly, I did not think I would even place, let alone win it!! Because I didn’t think I had much of a chance, I really spent all day having fun, being myself, and making friends (I know this sounds super cheesy) and I think that is why I won.

My first appearance: I marched in a parade which honored a local police officer who passed away recently.  This appearance was also in collaboration with my platform, Cause for the Paws–which is an animal abuse awareness club I founded at my school.  We got to bring our dogs to the parade as well which made it even more special!

Below are some photos from pageant day and others from the parade. IMG_6111FullSizeRender 2FullSizeRenderIMG_6072IMG_6088IMG_6105IMG_6132

BUY or BYE is Back to School: Morning Routine

Y’all are about to laugh at me for how much of a scheduling freak I am. Lol, bear with me.

I filmed my actual morning routine for back to school and no joke… I actually do this every. single. day.  There are a few newer things I am trying to integrate into my mornings but other than those, this is an exact copy of what I did each morning last year (and will continue to do).  Click on the video below to follow my morning, 5:45 – 7:20am!

Pre-Fall Clothing Haul

Hi loves!

I recently did some online and in store shopping for back to school! Honestly, most schools probably don’t let you wear some of this stuff due to strict dress codes but a little unnecessary shopping never hurt nobody… I hope.

-Manhattan Beach Open (in August)

-usually our annual trip falls in mid/late August and we get to be there for the MBOpen which is a huge volleyball tournament

-if you're there in July take a trip to the town over, Hermosa Beach, and catch the     Hermosa Open for some serious free samples (and overall an awesome experience)

-Farmers Market

Road to the Crown: Recap on #1

WOOHOOOO

The first pageant of the season is done! I made so many amazing friends and I had an experience of the lifetime! I feel so blessed to have won both the Miss Congeniality Award and First Runner Up!!! Congratulations to all the winners, I couldn’t be happier and they couldn’t be more deserving, xoxo!

Unfortunately, the music of my talent music started late and my routine got messed up but hey, ya win some ya lose some! I tried to play it off cool and keep up my smile!

Body Care: Glowing Summer Skin

With all the hype on clear skin, people seem to forget about their bodies too.  Making sure your whole body is healthy and hydrated is super important.  My mom is all about skin and body care so I’ve learned plenty of tips through her (thanks mom!).

  1. drink lots of water – if you’re already doing this for your face/general health, you’re good!
  2. SPF – the last thing you want on your glowing skin is sun damage/sun spots… take care of yourself
  3. baby oil – this is one of my moms tips… before drying off after the shower, rub baby oil allover, let it soak in and then dry off
  4. aquaphor – this is super weird but if you’re skin is in dire need of some moisture, load up on aquaphor at night and when you wake up in the morning you’ll feel as soft as a baby’s butt (which makes sense because they use this stuff on baby’s butts lol)
  5. sugar scrub – scrub off all of that dry and dead skin with any sugar scrub, I like this one from Soap & Glory because it smells like lime and it’s just amazing

UPDATED: All About My Hair Color

I have already posted about my color/routine before and I’ll link that here. However, I’ve changed the color of it 2 times (officially, lol) since then so it is time to update it!

GO FOLLOW RAY (the amazing artist behind all of my hairstyles) ON INSTAGRAM @creRAYtor and @craycraystylesz & let me know if you want his tips and tricks!

My natural hair color is a chocolate brown with natural red highlights:

I got highlights around a year ago (Aug):

Then I got a full balayage in April:

When I went to California my hair got even lighter in the sun:

Recently, I was reallllyyy missing my dark hair and decided to go back to it!

Here is how my (amazing) hair dresser did it (if you want to ask your stylist too)

*by the way, Ray (my hair magician), is an artist for L’Oreal Professionnel & he used all of their products on my hair*

  1. Glaze it- using the Dia Light
  2. Sealed it- using Power Mix Vitamino Color
  3. Styled it- using Liss Unlimited Smoothing Cream

Road to the Crown: Diary 3

some more updates!

✰I picked up my opening 2 piece and unfortunately it’s too big!  I bought it from my sisters friend and she wears a size bigger than me.  The outfit is too good though so we tried to get it taken in but unfortunately the beads make it impossible to alter.
✰We have another dress that I’m going to wear instead and I loveeee it so I can’t wait to show y’all.

✰I’ve been trying on a bunch of interview dresses but we still haven’t found the one!

✰On the gown: WE GOT THE STAINS OUT! We asked our dry cleaner to do it but he said the best option was spraying Shout on it and then putting it in the wash on delicate. IT WORKED.
